Tufts Health Plan Foundation Accepting Grant Applications That Improve Systems and Best Practices
WATERTOWN, MA – December 16, 2014 – The Tufts Health Plan Foundation is accepting Letters of Intent for its Systems and Best Practices cycle of community investments. The deadline for applications is Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. EST. Grants will run from July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016.
With its new focus, the Foundation is looking for ideas that will move communities toward accomplishing the World Health Organization’s standards for Age-friendly Communities. Specifically in the area of Systems and Best Practices, the Foundation will fund activities in Health and Wellness, Workforce Development, Purposeful Engagement, and Field and Capacity Building that will:
- Improve or build systems to support healthy living with an emphasis on the systems that are serving older adults,
- Bring organizations together to work collaboratively to achieve broader impact and change, and/or
- Scale efforts to address community needs.
The Foundation prioritizes activities that serve older adults living in underserved areas of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and who are at risk economically and socially.
The Foundation will also accept applications for a new area of community investing, the Foundation President’s Leadership Fund, which is designed to support community leaders in their work with multiple stakeholders toward a common community goal. This work could include current or new activities that directly or indirectly lead to age-friendly communities and address barriers to success in the most vulnerable communities. The Foundation will consider the intersection between policy and practice as well as collaborative community work in the built environment, transportation, housing, social and civic participation and inclusion, employment, communication and information, and community support and health services.
Please visit the How to Apply section on the Foundation web site for more information on the Foundation’s application process. The Foundation’s next cycle of community investments will focus on Policy and Advocacy with a deadline for Letters of Intent by July 20, 2015. Applications for the President’s Leadership Fund can also be submitted during this second cycle.
