about the foundation
The Foundation's mission is to promote healthy lifestyles and the delivery of quality health care in our communities.
History
To better support the communities we serve, Tufts Health Plan launched the Tufts Health Plan Foundation in 2007. The creation of a Foundation fulfills a long held desire of James Roosevelt, Jr., president and chief executive officer of Tufts Health Plan to use the assets of the health plan in a way that brings demonstrable improvement to longstanding health care issues.
The Foundation's focus is Healthy Aging - improving the lives of adults 60 and older. Through the programs we fund in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, we hope to elevate the well-being of older adults so as to enable them to live healthier lives. The Foundation funds over $2 million annually in grants to more than 60 Massachusetts and Rhode Island nonprofit organizations.
